Do your company’s social media channels have consistency? Take a look at your Facebook—now Twitter—now Instagram—now back to Facebook  Did it seem like they were all for the same company? To build your brand, it’s important to make sure your platforms have a strong consistency. Here are a few tips on how to gain consistency throughout your social media accounts:

Company Name/Photo
It’s important to sync up your name and photo within your social media galaxy. It should be easy for your customers to find and recognize your business. Your handle should not stray far from your company’s name. You should use your logo as your profile photo across your platforms.

Usage
If you have a social media account, use it. Consumers aren’t going to engage with a brand whose last post was 90 days ago. Consistently posting through each of your platforms ensures the opportunity for maximum exposure. Try to keep the same number of posts throughout your social media accounts per day. Or at least let them know you’re alive.

Content
As part of your social media strategy, you should have an idea of who your target audience is, and what they’re interested in. This ensures the relevancy of your posts. The content that you share should be similar on each platform. However, it’s encouraged to have variation in the way you deliver your content. For example, links and photos work best for Facebook interaction.

Personality
The voice behind your accounts should be consistent and authentic throughout your platforms. Take the time to figure out your brand identity and who you are. Don’t try to be someone you’re not. There is no need to worry about being overjoyed or too energetic. You can be quirky, mellow, or a mix of both, just make sure it carries over to all of your platforms!

Interlinking
Promoting your accounts across platforms is recommended. They are all working together to help you engage with your customer. For example, sharing Instagram posts on your Twitter will help users find you on multiple platforms. It gives your brand a nice cohesiveness. Call to action (CTA) also can help with promoting your various accounts. The photo below is an example of how you can establish a CTA.
